Meet, Greet, Lit Critique in #CRLiterature!

Hello all! This is an announcement to let you know that the lit community volunteers want you to stop into chat! We'd like to get the community together for some chat and critique, and so the four of us cordially invite you to stop by the lit chatroom #CRLiterature this Sunday at 8 pm GMT. (What time is that for me?)

Don't worry if that's too early for you, we plan on being around for a few hours at the least, so if it's too early, swing in when you're free and see if we're still around.

A few things to note, in particular:
Critique will happen one work at a time, be prepared to wait your turn.

Critics are not stating opinions about you, the writer. They will give feedback on the work you present to the chatroom, thoughts on how to improve the work, thoughts on what is successful and what is not, and things of that sort. Critique is not meant to function as a form of attack, please do not take it as such.

Do not, by any means, attack the people critiquing your work. These people are taking time out of their day to give you feedback and opinions on your work. If you disagree with something a critic says, discussion is fine, but keep it to actual discussion and not to insults. If you can't do that or don't feel comfortable discussing, then simply say "thank you" to the critic and move on.

By the same token, if you're giving feedback, keep things respectful. Each person has their own style of giving feedback, and some may be more blunt than others, but the focus of the critique should always be the piece itself, not the writer.

Everyone is welcome to take part, both in giving critique and receiving it. Keep in mind, though, the point is to focus on critique, not on conversation. There are plenty of other rooms to talk in, and plenty of other times to just talk in CRLiterature, as well.
