In our continuous effort to improve the DeviantArt experience, we're publishing weekly Site Updates to keep members informed and to gather feedback. Below is a list of recent changes to the site, bug fixes, and feedback that was brought up by members in the last Site Update.

Introducing the Timeline of DeviantArt

We’re proud to introduce the DeviantArt Timeline, which will highlight the work we’ve accomplished in the past while laying the groundwork for what’s to come. Everything beyond present day on our Timeline acts as a roadmap for the future, welcoming deviants to follow progression and development toward future goals and promises.

Change Log

  • For developers trying to create an app through the Sta.sh API, an unclear error message could occur unrelated to the actual problem. Fixed by justgalym
  • Poetry thumbnails would sometimes not display properly. Fixed by inazar
  • The autocomplete menu when including a tag or username in text would sometimes be triggered in inappropriate times, and could cause other text in the field to be lost. Fixed by Alisey
  • When uploading an image to include in a comment via the "Add Media" tool, the thumbnail for the image would be broken. Fixed by inazar
  • Usernames would sometimes be misaligned, in headings on the Watch Feed. Fixed by Alisey

Your Feedback

Thank you for the feedback on last week's Site Update

There were a variety of responses to the Discuss topic last week, and deviants offered a lot of insight into exploring creativity outside of creating. Some of the common responses included finding inspiration in dreams or daydreams, exploring nature to find new concepts or ideas, reading books or watching films to take in their stories, listening to music, or browsing art online to see what inspires other artists to create.

nosugarjustanger gave an insightful reply, saying that she is always in a general state of exploring creativity, and that she is inspired by people, and how they behave.

Sending Art in Notes

Do you send artwork to other people in Notes? If you do, what tends to be your primary reason for doing so? Do you send the Note to multiple people at once, when you do?

I still think you should add the priority feature that was suggested years ago so we don't miss the art of people we watch but post very few art (which gets under the people who post very often).
