In our continuous effort to improve the deviantART experience, we're publishing weekly Site Updates to keep members informed and to gather feedback. Below is a list of recent changes to the site, bug fixes, and feedback that was brought up by members in the last Site Update.

What's New

Help Improve More Like This

In October, More Like This was launched to all Premium Members, with an additional limited preview open to all deviantART members. If you've used More Like This, you may have noticed that sometimes you might stumble upon results that aren't as accurate as other results. Today, we're giving the community the ability to improve those More Like This results!

While using More Like This, if you run into results that aren't as relevant as we'd like them to be, you'll see a small notice above those results. Click "help us improve these results" to begin teaching More Like This which results are more relevant.

This tool will present you with a starting deviation and two sets of results. After reviewing both sets, you can choose which set is more accurate, if they're both accurate, or if neither are accurate.

Your input on these tests will help us to provide an even better browsing experience through More Like This, and your help in doing so is greatly appreciated!

Be Vigilant of Phishing

Your account's security is of vital importance to deviantART and we're committed to providing our members with resources and advice on how to stay safe and secure online. To further these goals, we regularly enhance our security protocols and provide additional tools, such as the Sessions Manager, to help you maintain your account security. We recently experienced an incident involving phishing, a tactic by which individuals obtain account information using a false login screen, email, etc., which affected some users on site. As a result, we posted Be Vigilant of Phishing, an article detailing the incident and how to improve your account security.

Over the coming weeks, we will be posting additional articles on account security to #communityops, our Community Operations group. We encourage you to add that group to your deviantWATCH and to keep your eyes open for our safety and security blogs coming in the next few weeks. Remember, it's everyone's responsibility to ensure you have a safe and secure online experience.

Your Feedback

Thanks for the feedback left on last week's Site Update! Here's some of what you had to say.
  • Several deviants were positive regarding a potential conversation view for Notes. Some deviants mentioned that they would like to see conversations organized based on the comment that starts the conversation, rather than by having all conversations with one person show up in one place.
  • Deviants were pleased about deviantART muro brush packs being made free for everyone.
  • Both suggestions included in last week's Site Update were met with agreement and support.
  • Deviants would like a tool to resize and rotate selections in deviantART muro. Suggested by bloominglove
  • Some deviants would like to be able to set drawings done in deviantART muro as their deviantID. (Thanks for bringing this up - we'll get this fixed!) Suggested by FadingNinja and notoriouslyMe
  • Deviants would like to search based on image sizes, similar to the way you can search by resolution or ratio. Suggested by petits-bonheurs
  • Some members would like a "Return to Top" button at the bottom of each page. Suggested by mnoruzi

Sta.sh Comments
It's been a few weeks since we launched the new Sta.sh comments, and while we've seen deviants making use of it, we'd like to hear more feedback on it. If you haven't given the new Sta.sh comments a try yet, feel free to do so on this image!
