Back home.
I've actually been home for a week or so now, but I've been catching up on everything I missed while I was gone, so I didn't have a chance to update sooner! I still need to write a full report of everything that went down while I was in Japan, but honestly I'm still trying to process the fact that the trip happened at all, so that'll happen eventually. Probably.
NaNoHereWeGo...
NaNoWriMo started on Sunday, and so far I'm doing pretty well! Managed to get a day ahead on day 1, and I'm currently doing my best to maintain that lead. I haven't written yet today, but I've got 6,695 words so far, which is just past tomorrow's word goal. My hope is that by the end of today I can be past the goal for the day after; ideally I'd like to be at 10k by the end of tomorrow, but since I've got a lead now it's kind of just a matter of writing consistently.
I feel remarkably not pressured by this. Granted, I wrote 3,500 words on day 1, but still. My graph is looking pretty already.
As far as word count goes, I'm currently one of the leaders for my region, the only people ahead of me at the moment are the local NaNoWriMo liaison and a person from a neighboring area who hangs out in our region a lot. Having said that, my local liaison is also notorious for writing like 18,000 words on the last day, so maybe that doesn't mean so much. Either way, I'm pleased with how things are going so far. Anyone else taking part? How is it going, if you are?
